Roman Handl joined Safic-Alcan in 2017, after more than a decade working in the construction sector, managing large-scale projects and public tenders for government entities. After 13 years in the same environment, he was ready for a new challenge — one that would allow him to grow, learn and move closer to a dynamic commercial role.

Already familiar with Safic-Alcan through previous professional proximity, Roman began his journey in Customer Service, bringing with him a solid understanding of the chemical industry, particularly plastics. Over the years, he progressively built his expertise and today leads the Plastics & Additives department at Safic-Alcan Czech Republic.

Beyond work: team spirit on every field

Outside of work, Roman is a lifelong football enthusiast, currently playing futsal and supporting Arsenal and Zbrojovka Brno. More broadly, he enjoys almost any team sport — from billiards to hockey — as well as skiing, snowboarding, travelling and cultural activities such as theatre, concerts and festivals.

Above all, his greatest passion remains his children, who he proudly describes as his biggest hobby and source of energy.
