ESG Manager – Safic-Alcan Group

Pauline Chary first joined Safic-Alcan in 2013, at the start of her career, before returning to the Group in 2019 after an international experience in New Zealand. With an engineering background and a strong personal commitment to sustainability, she was looking for a role that would allow her to align technical expertise with meaningful impact.

What convinced her to rejoin Safic-Alcan was the Group’s genuine commitment to sustainable development and the opportunity to actively contribute to shaping long-term ESG strategy across the organisation.

Sustainability as a collective effort

As ESG Manager, Pauline works closely with teams across the Group, as well as with external stakeholders. She firmly believes that sustainability can only be achieved through collaboration, transparency and dialogue.

One key milestone was the development of Safic-Alcan’s first materiality matrix in 2020, integrating both internal and external stakeholder expectations. This work directly influenced the evolution of the Group’s ESG strategy and the prioritisation of future projects.

Beyond work: music as energy

Outside of work, Pauline has a deep passion for music, which she considers essential to her daily life. While her tastes span many genres, her heart clearly belongs to metal, rock and punk. Though she prefers listening to playing, concerts and festivals remain a major source of inspiration — moments she looks forward to fully resuming.
