Mustafa Arslan: Business Director Plastics

Director – Plastics Industry, Turkiye

Mustafa Arslan is Director of the Plastics industry in Turkey, where he leads the development of Safic-Alcan’s activities in a fast-growing and evolving market. He joined the Group in 2011, following the acquisition of his former company, Interplast, marking Safic-Alcan’s first steps in Turkey.

At the time, the organisation operated with only two departments. Since then, the Turkish entity has expanded significantly, growing into a multi-industry structure covering Plastics, Rubber, CASE and Life Sciences, united by a strong team spirit and shared ambition.

Collaboration in challenging environments

Mustafa places great importance on fairness, trust and long-term collaboration in his relationships with colleagues, partners, principals and customers. The pandemic period, in particular, reinforced his belief that challenges are best addressed collectively, through dialogue and creativity.

For him, difficult situations are opportunities to develop new ideas, sustainable solutions and stronger partnerships, preparing the organisation to face future challenges with confidence.

Curiosity, learning and balance

Outside of work, Mustafa is deeply curious and passionate about learning. An avid reader, he reads 50 to 60 books per year, with a particular interest in philosophy and emerging technologies. He believes that continuous learning sharpens both professional judgment and personal perspective.

He is also a strong advocate of sports and physical activity, encouraging his team to stay active as a way to maintain balance and energy in demanding roles.

Living the values

Mustafa sees Safic-Alcan’s values as something to be lived rather than declared. Fairness—towards family, colleagues, partners, customers and the environment—is, in his view, the foundation upon which commitment, trust, sustainability and teamwork are built.
