HR Manager – Safic-Alcan Poland
Anna Grabowiec joined Safic-Alcan Poland in 2010, at a time when the local entity was just being built. She was among the very first employees, starting her journey as Office Manager, before progressively taking on broader responsibilities across Customer Service, operations and people management.
As the organisation grew, Anna evolved alongside it — first leading the Customer Service team and later stepping into the role of HR Manager, where she now focuses on supporting employees, strengthening culture and ensuring sustainable organisational growth.
Trust as a foundation
From the very beginning, Anna was struck by the level of trust and mutual support within Safic-Alcan. This culture shaped her approach to work and relationships, both internally and externally.
She believes that strong organisations are built on openness, empathy and reliability, whether working with colleagues, customers or principals. Over the years, she has witnessed — and actively contributed to — a company culture where people step in for one another, especially during challenging moments.
“People know they can rely on each other here — and that makes a real difference.”
A human-centred HR approach
When organisational growth called for a dedicated HR function, Anna embraced the challenge. She completed extensive training in labour law and HR practices, preparing herself to support Safic-Alcan’s teams in a more structured way.
In her role as HR Manager, she focuses on:
- listening to employees’ needs
- supporting development and training
- fostering engagement and well-being
- encouraging autonomy and responsibility
Together with local leadership, she works to maintain Safic-Alcan as a company with a human face, where employees feel heard, trusted and empowered.
“People are trusted to organise their work — not micromanaged.”
Resilience through teamwork
One of the most defining moments in Anna’s career came during the pandemic, when sudden team changes put intense pressure on operations. Despite limited resources, teams pulled together, supporting each other and ensuring continuity for customers.
While demanding, the experience reinforced the strength of collective commitment and solidarity — values Anna continues to nurture in her HR role.
Beyond work: care and balance
Outside of work, Anna is a devoted animal lover and runs a small Maine Coon cattery. Caring for animals brings her balance and fulfilment, reflecting the same empathy and attentiveness she brings into her professional life.
