Safic-Alcan expands its Life Sciences footprint in India with the acquisition of S.A. Ingredients

Paris-La Défense, May 4 2026 – Safic-Alcan, a major distributor of specialty chemicals, announces that it has acquired a majority stake in S.A. Ingredients Private Limited (SAI), a leading distributor of specialty chemicals for the Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical industries in India.

S.A. Ingredients was established in September 2023 following the demerger of the distribution business of S.A. Pharmachem Private Limited (SAP), a company in operations since 1992 and headquartered in Mumbai. SAI distributes specialty ingredients to over 400 customers across the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical sectors, working with world-class principals. The company employs over 30 people.

This acquisition is a key step in Safic-Alcan’s strategy to pursue our expansion in Asia and to reinforce our Life Sciences platform. India continues to show strong GDP growth and represents an important relay of growth for our Group. S.A. Ingredients brings us a highly complementary footprint to our recent investment in Avees Biocos, with strong expertise in probiotics, pharmaceutical excipients and nutraceutical ingredients. We are delighted to welcome Gaurav Kabra and the S.A. Ingredients team into the Safic-Alcan family.
