Leadership Profile

Philippe Combette is a former Chair of the Safic-Alcan Group and current member of the Supervisory Board, following a long-standing career dedicated to the Group’s development, governance and strategic transformation. He served as Chief Executive Officer from 2016 to 2020, after having been a Board Member since 2006, and played a key role in shaping Safic-Alcan’s long-term vision alongside the Group’s leadership.

Having joined Safic-Alcan in 1988 as a Sales Representative, Philippe spent his entire professional career within the Group. Over the years, he held a wide range of positions across Sales, Development, Business Management and Corporate Management, including General Manager and Group Development Manager. His trajectory reflects deep institutional knowledge and a strong commitment to the Group’s entrepreneurial roots.

Throughout his leadership journey, Philippe strongly believed in the role of innovative solutions as a driver of value creation, combined with a long-standing commitment to sustainability and responsible growth. This vision has contributed to Safic-Alcan’s transformation into a leading specialty chemical distributor.

Philippe holds a degree in Chemistry and graduated from the French Rubber Institute. Based in the Paris region, he has a long-standing passion for classic cars, reflecting his appreciation for engineering, craftsmanship and enduring performance.
