Leadership Profile

Martial serves as Chair of the Safic-Alcan Group, following a long-standing executive career during which he played a central role in shaping the Group’s strategy, structure and growth trajectory. As former Chief Executive Officer and Head of Mergers & Acquisitions, he led Safic-Alcan through a major transformation to establish the Group as a leading global distributor of specialty chemical ingredients.

Throughout his tenure as CEO, Martial drove significant geographical expansion and led the acquisition and integration of multiple specialty chemical distributors, strengthening Safic-Alcan’s international footprint, portfolio depth and operational capabilities. His leadership has been instrumental in building a resilient, scalable organisation grounded in long-term value creation.

Martial joined Safic-Alcan in 1988 as Commercial and Development Director, became Director of the Specialty Chemicals Department and a Board Member in 1997, and subsequently assumed executive leadership roles at Group level. Prior to joining Safic-Alcan, he held various Sales Manager positions, building strong commercial and market expertise early in his career.

He holds a degree in Chemistry from the University of Rouen and graduated from the French Rubber Institute. Based in the Paris region, Martial values long-term perspectives both professionally and personally, with interests including philately and golf.
