Personal Care Account Manager – Safic-Alcan UK
Manny Tailor joined Safic-Alcan in 2019, beginning his journey in the UK Cosmetics division as an R&D Chemist in the application laboratory. At the time, the division was still in its early stages, and Manny was keen to contribute to its growth within a distributor recognised for its strong reputation in Life Sciences.
After 18 months supporting the sales team with prototype formulations, technical troubleshooting and customer presentations, Manny transitioned into a Personal Care Account Manager role, covering the North of England and Ireland. While moving into sales was initially a challenge, his scientific background quickly became a strong asset.
Building trust through expertise
Manny strongly believes that successful business relationships are built on trust, honesty and reliability. Customers often choose to work with people as much as with companies, and Manny makes it a priority to be a dependable point of contact for both customers and partners.
By combining technical knowledge with responsiveness and transparency, he supports customers throughout their projects — from inspiration and formulation ideas to long-term development.

From the lab to the field
One of Manny’s proudest early achievements was receiving the Laura Marshall Memorial Award for Innovation during his first year at Safic-Alcan, awarded for the most innovative formulation at SCS Formulate. This recognition reinforced his confidence in bridging laboratory expertise with market-facing roles.
He also values Safic-Alcan’s collaborative culture, where colleagues across countries and departments share knowledge, best practices and industry insights — making learning a constant part of the job.
Competitive spirit, on and off the pitch
Outside of work, Manny is a passionate rugby player and coach, having played Rugby Union for Bolton for nearly 20 years. Although injuries may soon keep him off the field, he plans to remain involved through coaching. He also enjoys football and competitive team sports, reflecting the same drive and teamwork he brings to his professional life.
