Leadership Profile

Jose Lora leads Safic-Alcan’s Life Sciences activities at Group level, overseeing the strategic development of the segment across markets. He also serves as Commercial Manager of Safic-Alcan Especialidades and General Manager of Biochimex, reflecting his deep operational involvement alongside his executive responsibilities.

Jose joined Safic-Alcan in Spain in 1996 as Pharmaceutical Department Manager and has played a key role in the growth and structuring of the Group’s pharmaceutical and life sciences activities. Over the years, he has held several leadership positions, including Deputy General Manager of Safic-Alcan Especialidades, where he supervised six commercial departments. He joined the Executive Committee in September 2020.

He holds a Master’s degree in Biochemistry from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and completed the PMD executive program at ESADE. His background combines strong scientific expertise with long-standing commercial and leadership experience in specialty ingredients distribution.

Based in Barcelona, Jose values international exposure and cultural discovery, with a particular interest in travel, gastronomy and sport. He has been practicing padel tennis for over a decade and remains actively engaged in building long-term, people-driven business relationships.
